Belvédère Savoy

Belvédère Savoy sits along Route du Richelieu at an elevation of 307 feet, facing due west (270°). The terrain drops 177 feet over the next 600 meters, opening a view across the surrounding landscape. Ruisseau Beloeil is visible to the west-northwest, 4.2 miles out at 49 feet elevation, while Mont Saint-Bruno, part of the Monteregian Hills, rises to the west at a distance of 7.0 miles, reaching 715 feet. Mont Saint-Bruno's summit lies 23 km east of downtown Montreal. Because the overlook faces directly toward the west, the view aligns with sunset. On the June solstice, the sun sets at 20:46, giving the longest evening light of the year at this stop; by the December solstice, sunset comes much earlier, at 16:12. Equinox sunsets fall near 19:05 in March and 18:52 in September. Visitors arriving in late afternoon or early evening will find the light oriented squarely with the overlook's western view toward the river valley and the distant peak.
