Derrycreha Layby sits at 286 ft along the Wild Atlantic Way, facing 230°, with the land dropping 172 ft within 600 m of the pullout. The view spans west to west-southwest across a line of peaks, from Shrone Hill at 2.6 miles and 826 ft, through Derrynafulla SW and Gowlbeg Mountain around the 4-mile mark, to the Sugarloaf Mountain group at 5.2 to 5.9 miles, topping out near 1,780 ft. Knockacarrin lies southwest at 5.3 miles and 537 ft, while Glenlough Mountain and Caha Far SE Top extend the view further west and west-northwest, both above 1,500 ft, at distances of 6.1 and 6.2 miles. The 230° orientation faces 40° off square from due west, putting the layby in line with sunset skies; sunset falls at 18:51 during the March equinox, 22:01 at the June solstice, 19:39 at the September equinox, and 16:30 at the December solstice. Lady Bantry's Lookout precedes this stop, and Ardnatrush View follows it along the route.
