Kā Puketai / Round Hill rises to the east at 853 ft, about 3.2 mi away, while Stucks Hill lies to the north at 451 ft, roughly 3.8 mi off. Daylight hours vary across the year: on the December solstice the sun rises at 05:54 and sets at 21:41, giving the longest span, while the June solstice sees a later sunrise at 08:34 and an earlier sunset at 17:09. The equinoxes fall in between, with March offering sunrise at 07:51 and sunset at 20:04, and September bringing sunrise at 06:40 and sunset at 18:45. This lookout follows McCrackens Rest and precedes Scenic Lookout along the route.
