Urriðafoss

Urriðafoss sits along the Ring Road at an elevation of 291 ft, with the surrounding terrain dropping 33 ft within 600 m of the overlook. The waterfall is located on the river Þjórsá in southwest Iceland and has a flow rate of 360 m³/s. Daylight hours vary widely across the year here: on the June solstice, sunrise is at 02:56 and sunset at 23:54, while on the December solstice sunrise comes at 11:14 and sunset at 15:29. The equinoxes fall closer to a standard twelve-hour split, with sunrise around 07:06–07:25 and sunset around 19:27–19:37. This lookout follows the Eyjafjallajökull Viewpoint and precedes the Bird watching stop along the same route.
