Taranaki and Takarangi lie north-northeast at 6.2 and 8.6 miles, while Rerepi, the most distant peak listed, stands north at 7.3 miles and 1,572 feet in elevation. Mapere, a cape rather than a peak, is northeast at 5.2 miles. Sunrise and sunset times vary through the year, from a 05:40 sunrise at the December solstice to a 07:28 sunrise at the June solstice, with sunset ranging from 16:54 in June to 20:34 in December.
