Reservation detailsHosmer Grove lies in the cloud belt of Haleakalā, just below the 7,000 foot level (2134m) in the Summit District. Be prepared for rain and cold weather. Nighttime temperatures can drop into the to near freezing (0°C); daytime highs average 50-65°F (10-18°C). The campground has picnic tables, barbeque grills, drinking water, and pit toilets. Overnight stays are limited to three (3) nights total for all Park areas in a thirty day period. Pets are not permitted in or around campsite facilities.

There there is one narrow, paved path that leads to the first site only. The campsites are on a sloping, grassy field.
Pit toilet restrooms by the campground parking lot are accessible. There are no designated accessible campsites. The campsites are spread across a sloping, grassy field directly across from the parking lot.
Fires are only permitted in designated barbeque grills. Gas stoves are permitted. There are no ground fires allowed.
Seven hundred feet past the Summit District Entrance Station, turn left at the four-way intersection, following signs for Hosmer Grove Campground. Follow the road for .5 mile to reach the campground parking lot.
The weather in the Summit District can change quickly from warm and sunny to cold and rainy. Hosmer Grove Campground lies in the cloudbelt of Haleakalā, and as such often sees misty, rainy, and wet conditions during winter months and in the afternoons. It is advised to have rain gear and a rain fly when undertaking outdoor activities.
