Aspen Flats Cabin
Russian River Campground and access road are closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic closure The closure is in place roughout the winter for public safety as construction and tree felling operations may occur at any time the environmental conditions allow. The Forest Service anticipates the first day for reservation arrivals in the campground will be June 5, 2023, prior to the opening of the sockeye salmon sport fishing season.The campground may open earlier on a first come first serve basis. For those planning to hike Russian Lakes Trail or make reservations at the Barber, Aspen Flats or Upper Russian Lakes Cabins while the closure is in effect, please be aware that there is no access from the Lower Russian Lakes trailhead. Access and parking to the trail and cabins are available from the trailhead on Snug Harbor Road. A 12 x 14-foot rustic cabin on the Russian River between Lower and Upper Russian Lakes. The surrounding area is flat to hilly with scattered spruce and cottonwood, and views of mountains beyond. Visitation is low, especially in the winter. This cabin sleeps 6 and has a table, wood stove, splitting maul, crosscut saw, and outhouse. Not included: running water, electricity, mattress or bedding, cooking utensils, or cut firewood.

Per night prices range from $50-60 (2018 prices) depending on season. Cabin fees are based on non-peak/peak season. Seasons vary by cabin. A non-refundable service fee will be added to each reservation by Recreation.gov
Restrictions
Russian Lakes Trail is closed year-round to motorized vehicles from Russian River Campground to Upper Russian Lake Cabin. The remainder of the trail between Cooper Lake Road and Upper Russain Cabin is open to motorized vehicles from December 1- April 30 only. Russian Lakes Trail is closed to pack/saddle stock from April 1- June 30.
