Due to damage from heavy winter snows during the 2011/2012 winter, Martin Lake cabin is undergoing significant repairs and upgrades. The Chugach National Forest is partnering with the National Forest Foundation in the Alaska Cabins Project, an agreement between the two agencies to construct up to 25 new cabins in the Chugach and Tongass National Forests.
