Lake Michigan Campground
When you want Lake Michigan to be your playground in the Upper Peninsula Michigan, consider Lake Michigan Campground. Dunes, waves, sand and wind, are the primary environmental factors present here. Campsites are nestled in the sand dunes that can reach heights of 30-feet tall . Over the sand dunes you’ll find miles of sand beach. Accessibility at Lake Michigan Campground • 35 campsites • Two spaces are specially located for people with disabilities. • Cold running water and vault toilets • Many sites are excellent tent sites, located between dunes 20-to-30-feet high. • Other sites are suitable for trailers and other recreational vehicles. Nature and Wildlife at Lake Michigan Campground Water birds in the area are fun to watch. In the early morning watch the lake for ducks, like the common merganser and hooded merganser. Shore birds, like the spotted sandpiper, run up and down the beaches.
