The rustic 12 x 18 foot, one room log cabin sits at 3,200 feet elevation in the Teanaway River drainage with the icy North Fork Teanaway River just across the road. The cabin is furnished with a set of bunk beds (bring your sleeping bags) a table and chairs, a wood burning stove, fire wood is provided. The kitchen is equipped with a two burner Coleman propane stove. You supply the 16.4 ounce propane bottles. A lantern is in the cabin which uses 4 D cell batteries that you provide. There is no water on site, and visitors must bring plenty for drinking, cooking and washing. Water can be hauled from the Teanaway River, but must be treated before use. A vault toilet is located near the cabin. A picnic table and fire pit are available for outdoor barbecuing, dining and campfires. Visitors are asked to check campfire restrictions prior to arrival. • Availability: Teanaway Guard Station is available for rent year-round, weather permitting. • Price and Capacity: $65 per night per group, with a maximum of two occupants. Fees are used directly for the maintenance and preservation of the guard station. • Reservations: The maximum length stay is fourteen consecutive nights. Phone 1-877-444-6777 or visit recreation.gov History The cabin was originally constructed in 1950 by a miner.
