Official Forest Service pageHorsehead Lake Recreation Area
Horsehead Lake offers several amenities to its visitors. Managed cooperatively by the US Forest Service and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, it provides a developed camping area, restroom facilities with showers, a playground, and picnic area, most of which are fully accessible. There is primitive camping and a boat launch across the lake from the developed campground, offered by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. There is a ’no wake’ limitation on the lake so visitors are encouraged to operate smaller motors or trolling motors while enjoying their day of boating and fishing. Swimming is allowed at Horsehead Lake, but be aware that you are swimming at your own risk. Campground and Day-Use Area Rules
