The Burning Bear Trail (#601) has two trail heads: east and west. The east end of the trail begins approximately 0.2 mile west of the parking area for the Abyss/Burning Bear East Trailhead (9,620’). From the small gate at the beginning of the trail, the trail leads northwest in an open meadow for about 200 yards and then crosses a large bridge over Geneva Creek. The trail then continues west and south towards Hall Valley.
