Travel back in time to the days of the mining boom at Crescent City Mining Camp on the outskirts of the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness near Rockdale, CO ( Clear Creek Canyon ) at intersection of County Road 390 and FS road 381. Clear Creek Canyon is a rich historical area. The Winfield town-site is only a few miles away. There are four cabins; only two are reservable at www.recreation.gov The cabins have been restored but provide no amenities. Visitors need to bring bedding, including cots as well as a cook stove. There is an outdoor fireplace and vault toilet. No drinking water is available.
