Keller Peak Yellow Post Sites

There are 9 individual Yellow Post sites. Each campsite will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis ONLY! Each site is limited to a maximum of 8 people and 2 vehicles ONLY, this sites have very limited space. Amenities include 1 picnic table and 1 fire ring per site. There are no restroom facilities or drinking water. Please Pack It In - Pack It Out & Leave No Trace! Camping Regulation due to Forest Order 05-12-52-20-06 • Camping for a period longer than 14 consecutive days within 300 feet of Keller Peak Road, including all Yellow Post Sit es. 36 CFR 261.58(a). Camping within a quarter mile of the locations listed in Exhibit A. 36 CFR 261.58(e). Having more than eight people in any Keller Peak Yellow Post Site. 36 CFR 261.58(f). Possessing, parking, or leaving more than two vehicles, except motorcycles or bicycles in any Keller Peak Yellow Post Site. 36 CFR 261.58(i). During winter, Keller Peak Road closes due to snow accumulation, but it is still possible to hike, snowshoe, or cross-country ski to these sites. These sites are near the Children’s Forest Visitor Center, the Children’s Forest Exploration Trail, and the Keller Peak Fire Lookout. Campfire permits are required for any type of fire use - campfires, charcoal BBQ`s, or gas stoves. Campfires and charcoal BBQ`s may not be allowed certain times of the year. As of 7/2/2024 wood and/or charcoal BBQ fires are not allowed due to Forest Order 05-12-00-24-06. Please see the Current Fire Restrictions section. NO CAMPFIRES ARE ALLOWED until campfire rings are re-installed. Pack out what you pack in and Leave No Trace!
