Jacks Creek Horse Camp

Beautifully located among aspens and mixed conifer, you will definitely get the mountain experience at Jack’s Creek. 21 miles north of Pecos on NM 63 and Forest Road 555. Some recreation uses include: camping, hiking, horseback riding. Facilities: • 8 units for equestrian camping. • 5 12’x12’ corrals, with a highline or picket line on 3 others. • 15 spaces for horse trailer parking. • Trash bins, vaulted toilets, tables, and grills. • The sites are flat. • The bathrooms are accessible for people living with physical disabilities. Special Instructions: NO potable water currently available. New water systems are anticipated to be installed in 2024. • RVs are welcome, but there are no hook-ups or showers. • Users are encouraged to recycle and pack out trash. • Please visit the Leave No Trace website for more information about frontcountry and backcountry outdoor ethics.
