Little Mt. Hoffman Lookout
No Campfires - Fire Restrictions are in effect for the Shasta-Trinity NF. The Little Mt. Hoffman lookout was constructed in the 1920’s and was used by the Forest Service on a regular basis until 1978. It is one of the few remaining historic lookouts on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The Lookout is still occasionally used by the Forest Service in times of extreme fire danger. Staying at either of our two lookouts is a unique and memorable experience.

Restrictions
Fire Restrictions : At times special fire restrictions limit the use of campfires, charcoal fires, smoking, and operation of most internal combustion engines. The use of portable stove using gas, jellied petroleum or pressurized liquid fuel is allowed with a valid California campfire permit. Renter can obtain a free California campfire permit at any Forest Service, CalFire or Bureau of Land Management office. Smoking is prohibited within the lookout, smoke only in vehicles, or an area cleared of all flammable material. Fireworks are prohibited on all National Forest lands.
