French Meadows Campground

French Meadows Campground is located on the south shore of French Meadows Reservoir in a coniferous forest. Campground is in close proximity to the Granite Chief Wilderness. Late season start up in progress, campers are suggested to bring their own water. French Meadows may be reached by taking Mosquito Ridge Road or Foresthill Road to Forest Road 43, however, trailers and motor homes are not recommended on this route. Caution: have a full fuel tank before leaving Foresthill. There are no services beyond that point and extremely limited cell phone coverage. From Foresthill, continue to drive northeast on Foresthill Road through town to Robinson Flat campground. Approximately 29.9 miles (58 min drive). At the Robinson flat road intersection make a right hand turn onto Forest Service Road #43 (FS43) Follow FS43 until it intersects with Mosquito Ridge Road and turn left onto mosquito Ridge Road. 10.4 miles (22 min drive) Continue on Mosquito Ridge Road until you reach the tee intersection on the far side of French Meadows Dam. 15.2 miles (32 min). At the intersection of Mosquito Ridge Road and French Meadows Road turn left and drive 3 miles to French Meadows Campground. The area may also be accessed by Wentworth Springs Rd to 11 Pines Rd from Georgetown.

French Meadows is located within a State Game Refuge. Firearms or any other implements capable of taking game (including, but not limited to, bows & arrows and slingshots) are prohibited in this area; camping outside designated campground is prohibited in this area.
