Target Meadows Campground

Located around a scenic meadow and surrounded by majestic trees such as Engelmann spruce and Lodgepole pine, Target Meadows has a unique history. It was used by U.S. Army soldiers stationed at Ft. Walla Walla as a summer encampment and artillery range from the late 1880s through 1906. Visitors who explore the campground and surrounding area can even find grooves in trees left by the cavalry’s bullets. Located at the end of the road is the Burnt Cabin Trailhead (the trail is closed at the bridge due to instability). This trail will lead you down to the South Fork Walla Walla River Trail.

Fees

An overnight camping fee of $12.00 will be charged. An additional $5 "per extra vehicle" fee will be charged for each vehicle exceeding the maximum two vehicle per site allowance.

Hours

July-October 15: After October 15th all service will be suspended and no fee will be charged. September 30 the water will be shut off. Trash service will end on October 4th. After service end the camp is still available for camping and day-use.
