The view opens across a stretch of coast and small offshore features: Abbey Island to the south-southeast at 1.7 mi, and Derrynane Beach (Trá Doire Fhíonáin) at 2.2 mi to the southeast. Moylaun Island lies south at 2.5 mi, close in elevation to the water, while Lamb's Head Hill and Oileán Dá Cheann sit near each other to the south-southeast at 2.8 mi. Scarriff Island is visible to the southwest at 4.9 mi, reaching 779 ft, and farther off, Eagle Hill appears south-southeast at 8.5 mi. The Caherkeen Mass Rock, a feature rather than a peak, lies southeast at 9.1 mi. Daylight hours vary through the year, with sunrise and sunset ranging from 05:22–22:04 near the June solstice to 08:46–16:33 in December. The lookout is positioned between Coomnahorna and Sneem Graveyard on the route.
