Halte du Nordet

Halte du Nordet sits at 489 feet along the Route des Navigateurs, facing 300 degrees toward the northwest, with terrain dropping 408 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. The view takes in Îlet Levasseur to the west-northwest at 1.3 miles, followed by a line of higher ground further out: Montagne du Remous at 12.5 miles, Le Grand Por at 13.5 miles, and Lac des Soeurs at 14.4 miles, all lying northwest to west-northwest. Montagne des Boies and the Rivière du Port au Persil extend the view to the north-northwest, at 15.1 and 16.6 miles respectively. Because the facing angle is offset 30 degrees from square to the sunset direction, the overlook faces generally toward where the sun sets across the seasons, with sunset times ranging from about 15:51 in December to 20:41 in June. Allagash lies 49.6 miles to the southeast. Belvédère du Faucon is the next lookout along the byway.
