La Saulce Vieille

This overlook sits at 2,246 feet along the Route Napoléon, facing 150 degrees, with the land dropping 383 feet within 600 meters of the pull-off. La Durance river is visible to the east-southeast at 0.8 miles, lying at 1,880 feet elevation. Several peaks appear in the view: Tournoux to the south at 1.8 miles (2,641 feet), Picoustau to the east-southeast at 2.0 miles (3,189 feet), Malaup to the south-southeast at 3.4 miles (5,121 feet), Tête de Boursier to the south-southwest at 3.6 miles (4,114 feet), Les Croix to the south at 3.8 miles (4,675 feet), and Sommet de Saint-Sagier to the east at 4.5 miles (4,859 feet). Sunrise and sunset times vary through the year, from a 05:52 sunrise and 21:25 sunset at the June solstice to an 08:10 sunrise and 17:00 sunset at the December solstice, with the equinoxes falling between those marks. The lookout is positioned along the byway between Pic de Crigne and Départ du 9.
