Higher ground rises to the west-southwest, including La Brèche de Charance at 5,377 feet, Pic de Charance at 6,070 feet, Montagne de Charance at 5,497 feet, and Le Cuchon at 6,243 feet. To the south and south-southeast, Colline de Saint-Mens, Serre de la Combe, and Serre de l'Aigle rise to between roughly 3,000 and 3,300 feet. Daylight hours vary through the year, with sunrise around 05:51 and sunset around 21:25 near the June solstice, compared to sunrise around 08:10 and sunset around 16:59 near the December solstice. This overlook follows La Saulce Vieille and precedes Vue du Paradis along the route.
