Paihia Beach Lookout

Paihia Beach Lookout sits along the Twin Coast Discovery Highway at an elevation of 33 ft, with the land dropping 36 ft over the next 600 m. Nihinui Point, a cape rising to 50 ft, lies to the northwest at 0.6 mi. Farther north-northeast, Kororāreka Point (110 ft) appears at 2.1 mi, while three peaks cluster in the middle distance: Hobson Hill (223 ft) to the northwest at 2.4 mi, and Maiki Hill (289 ft) and Flagstaff Hill Lookout (299 ft) both to the north-northeast at 2.4 and 2.5 mi. Sunrise and sunset times shift across the year, from a 07:33 sunrise at the June solstice to a 06:06 sunrise at the December solstice, with sunsets ranging from 17:19 in June to 20:38 in December. The lookout falls between Scenic Reserve and Paihia Lookout on the route.
