Several rivers and creeks appear across the view, including the Whanaki River to the north, the Waireia River and Tauhoa River to the west and west-northwest, the Wharehine River to the north-northwest, and the more distant Oruawharo River and Māeneene Creek. Gittos Point extends into view to the northwest at 6.7 miles, while Browns Hill, at 276 feet, rises to the north-northeast at 7.3 miles. The nearest town, Warkworth, is 11.3 miles to the east-southeast, with Snells Beach and Ōrewa farther along in the same general direction. This stop falls between Cathedral Grove and Parekura Peak on the byway route.
