Topphøna

Topphøna sits at 1,505 ft along the Ryfylke byway, facing south toward terrain that drops 1,278 ft within 600 meters of the overlook. The view spans a cluster of peaks arranged in a wide southern arc: Skjørbu at 1,815 ft to the southeast (1.2 mi), Gramsfjellet at 1,635 ft to the south-southeast (1.6 mi), and Stora Tibergfjellet, the tallest in view at 2,269 ft, southeast at 2.5 mi. Closer peaks include Almåsen (1,294 ft) and Midtknuten (1,283 ft), both south-southwest within 2 miles, along with Lusabergknuten (1,144 ft) directly south at 2.1 mi. Farther out, Langaberg (1,455 ft), Store Krokarfjellet (1,494 ft), and Hamrane (1,256 ft) extend the sightline to nearly 3.1 miles. Daylight hours vary considerably by season: the June solstice offers sunrise at 04:22 and sunset at 22:54, while the December solstice narrows the window to 09:30 sunrise and 15:39 sunset. Topphøna follows a previous scenic overlook on the route and precedes the next stop, Lauvåsen.
