Apgar Visitor Center

Apgar Visitor Center is located 2 miles east of the West Glacier entrance to the park. Rangers are on duty to assist with trip planning. The visitor center is the hub for the Going-to-the-Sun Road shuttle system on the west side of the park.

The Apgar Visitor Center is open seven days a week in the summer. In the winters the Apgar Visitor Center is sometimes open on weekends.

Passport Stamps are available in several locations including: Apgar Visitor Center, Logan Pass Visitor Center, St. Mary Visitor Center, Many Glacier Ranger Station, Two Medicine Ranger Station, Polebridge Ranger Station, Park Headquarters, and the train depot in West Glacier, MT.
Enter the park from Hwy 2 at West Glacier and proceed through the entrance station 2 miles to the visitor center.
Apgar Visitor Center is adjacent to a long paved parking lot and surrounded by a dense lodge pole pine forest. Past a flagpole a walkway leads in front of the visitor center, next to a series of exhibits. The building itself has large wooden columns and big glass windows and doors in front. Inside there are two service desks a few exhibits and a small book store.
