Washington Creek Campground is located along Washington Creek near Windigo on the southwest end of Isle Royale, off of the Feldtmann Lake, Minong, and Greenstone Ridge Trails. The Windigo Visitor Center, Windigo Store, and Windigo Comfort Station are all accessible from the campground. Boats can stay at Windigo Dock (average depth at dock 4'-20') or stay and walk .3 miles to campground. Stay Limit: 3 nights from June 1 – September 21 annually Shelters: 10 Access: Foot/canoe/kayak/private boat

Washington Creek Campground is located along Washington Creek near Windigo on the southwest end of Isle Royale, off of the Feldtmann Lake, Minong, ,and Greenstone Ridge Trails.

Isle Royale National Park is a remote archipelago in the middle of Lake Superior. To make the most of your visit, it is necessary that you plan ahead and prepare. Be aware that many services and items that are available on the mainland are not available at Isle Royale. Due to the unpredictable waters of Lake Superior and its effect on island weather, be prepared for any and all weather conditions.

All park visitors pay an entrance fee. Self-contained stoves only. Treated water supply. Dogs, cats, and other pets are not allowed. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. EDT/ 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. CDT. Fishing licenses are not required for inland lakes and streams on the island. However, Michigan size, season, and possession limits still apply. Only barbless hooks and artificial lures and flies may be used on inland lakes and streams. A State of Michigan fishing license is required to fish in the waters of Lake Superior.

Washington Creek Campground is located along Washington Creek near Windigo on the southwest end of Isle Royale. The Feldtmann Lake, Minong, Greenstone Ridge, and Huginnin Trails create a junction near Windigo. This large campground offers creek front sites. Boat access is at the Windigo Dock with a short .3 mile walk to the Washington Creek Campground. Many shelter sites have canoe/kayak access. The trail from Windigo to Washington Creek Campground is wide and accessible. Potable water is found at the second entrance to the Washington Creek Campground and by the flagpole in Windigo. Moose viewing is common in Washington Creek during summer months. This campground includes five individual tent sites, ten shelters, and four group tent sites.
