Apache Lake Vista

Apache Lake Vista sits at 2,613 feet on the Apache Trail Historic Road, facing 330 degrees toward the north-northwest. The terrain drops 254 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. From this point, Goat Mountain rises to the north-northwest at 3.3 miles, with Cottonwoods Spring visible in the same direction at 3.8 miles. Horse Mesa lies west at 4.0 miles, alongside Black Rock to the west-northwest at the same distance. Painted Cliffs and Gun Sight Point are both situated to the west-northwest, at 4.8 and 4.9 miles respectively. The nearest towns are Gilbert, Mesa, and Chandler, each roughly 35 to 39 miles to the west-southwest. Fish Creek Vista is the previous lookout along this byway. According to USFS source information, the site includes accessible parking, accessible pedestrian routes, an accessible pedestrian trail, and an interpretive trail, with Apache Lake noted as a feature of the area. Sunrise and sunset times vary across the year, from a 05:16 sunrise at the June solstice to a 07:26 sunrise at the December solstice.
