Couldrey House Lookout

Couldrey House Lookout sits at 215 ft along the Twin Coast Discovery Highway, facing 330°. The terrain drops 221 ft within 600 m of the overlook, giving an open view over the surrounding land. Te Akeake, a cape, lies north-northeast at 0.6 mi and 55 ft elevation, while Tungutu Point, another cape, is visible further north-northeast at 2.0 mi and 131 ft. Pūhoi peak rises to the north-northwest at 1.2 mi, reaching 453 ft. Daylight hours shift across the year, with sunrise at 06:00 and sunset at 20:39 around the December solstice, compared with a 07:34 sunrise and 17:13 sunset at the June solstice. Equinox timings fall between these, with sunrise at 06:13 and sunset at 18:17 in September, and sunrise at 07:24 and sunset at 19:35 in March. This lookout follows the Wenderholm Regional Park Picture Frame and precedes Mt Parihaka Lookout along the route.
