Evans Notch Overlook

Evans Notch Overlook sits at 1,486 feet along the Pequawket Trail Scenic Byway, with the terrain dropping about 30 feet over the first 600 meters from the pullout. An interpretive sign marks the site, which provides views of the watershed divide between the Androscoggin and Saco Rivers to the north and south. Berlin is the nearest town, 14.8 miles to the northwest; Windham and Cumberland lie farther southeast, at 45.8 and 50.5 miles respectively. Day length varies with the seasons: sunrise runs from about 5:01 a.m. at the June solstice to 7:17 a.m. at the December solstice, with sunset ranging from 8:32 p.m. in June to 4:08 p.m. in December. The equinox dates fall roughly in between, with sunrise near 6:32–6:48 a.m. and sunset near 6:43–6:56 p.m. This stop is preceded by the Cold River Overlook and followed by the Evans Notch Scenic Overlook along the byway route.
