GrandView Rock

GrandView Rock sits at 927 feet along the Great River Road, facing north with land dropping 299 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. From this point, Lower Quarry View lies north-northeast at 1.6 miles (896 ft), with FerryRock further along the same direction at 1.8 miles (1,000 ft). Bergen Bluff State Natural Area is visible to the east-northeast at 3.7 miles (1,065 ft). More distant points, La Crosse County and South View, both appear north-northeast at 11.5 miles, at elevations of 983 feet. La Crosse is 14.8 miles north, Onalaska 19.8 miles north, and Winona 35.9 miles north-northwest. Sunrise and sunset vary through the year: on the March equinox the sun rises at 07:09 and sets at 19:18; on the June solstice sunrise is 05:25 and sunset 20:51; on the September equinox sunrise is 06:53 and sunset 19:04; on the December solstice sunrise is 07:36 and sunset 16:32. Reno Quarry Point precedes this overlook along the route, and Reno south prairie follows it.
