Hallaway's Hill

Hallaway's Hill sits at 1,491 feet along the Otter Trail Scenic Byway, facing due north across land that drops 176 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. From this vantage, Pelican peak is visible to the north at 10.0 miles (1,535 ft), with Tweeton WPA to the northwest at 13.1 miles (1,413 ft) and the Northern Tallgrass Prairie NWR to the north-northwest at 13.4 miles (1,420 ft). Fergus Falls lies 18.6 miles to the south-southwest, Detroit Lakes is 20.0 miles north-northeast, and Moorhead is 42.9 miles west-northwest. Daylight hours vary through the year: sunrise runs from 05:32 at the June solstice to 08:06 at the December solstice, with sunset ranging from 21:21 in June to 16:40 in December, and near-equal hours around the equinoxes in March and September. Inspiration Peak is the next lookout along the byway.
