This overlook sits at 1,686 feet along the Mohawk Trail (MA), facing east (90°), with the terrain dropping 1,023 feet within 600 meters of the vantage point. The view faces toward sunrise, aligning directly with the sun's rising position year-round. Coon Hill rises to the northeast at 1.5 miles, with Legate Hill farther northeast at 2.4 miles reaching 1,837 feet. Blueberry Peak stands east-northeast at 1.6 miles, elevation 1,679 feet. To the east-southeast, both Hail to the Sunrise Memorial Park and Mohawk Park lie at 1.6 miles, at 585 and 578 feet respectively, with Warfield Mountain further out at 2.8 miles. Mount Peak appears to the southeast at 3.0 miles, elevation 1,636 feet.

Sunrise times shift through the year: 5:15 a.m. at the June solstice, near 6:56 and 6:40 a.m. at the equinoxes, and 7:19 a.m. at the December solstice, with sunsets ranging from 8:34 p.m. in June to 4:22 p.m. in December. Pittsfield lies 21.0 miles southwest, with Westfield and Chicopee both to the south-southeast at 37.7 and 38.5 miles. The Overlook precedes this stop, and Sunset Rock follows on the route.
