At the edge of the visible range, Little Snaggy Mountain lies to the southwest at 6.9 miles and Roman Nose Hill to the west-southwest at 7.6 miles, reaching 2,999 feet. Cumberland is 24.4 miles to the east-northeast, while Cheat Lake and Uniontown lie 35 miles or more to the west-northwest and northwest. Sunrise and sunset times vary by season, from a 05:50 sunrise at the June solstice to a 07:35 sunrise at the December solstice, with sunset ranging from 16:57 in December to 20:48 in June. This overlook follows Deep Creek Lake along the route.
