North Overlook

North Overlook sits at 2,002 feet along the Presidential Range Tour byway, facing due north, with the land dropping 602 feet within 600 meters of the viewpoint. From here, Soldier Park, the Lancaster Community Garden, Colonel Town Recreation Park, and the Lancaster Fairgrounds are visible to the north between 2.3 and 4.1 miles out, at elevations under 1,000 feet. Bunker Hill rises to the north-northeast at 2.8 miles, with Lancaster Town Forest and Spalding Hill further along the same direction at 3.7 and 5.3 miles. To the northwest and north-northwest, a line of higher peaks extends into the distance: Colby Mountain at 5.5 miles, Duren Mountain at 6.1 miles, Sheridan Mountain at 6.4 miles, and Halibut Mountain at 7.3 miles, the last reaching 2,109 feet. Littleton lies 14.2 miles to the southwest, Berlin 19.2 miles east, and Saint Johnsbury 22.1 miles west. On the byway, this overlook follows Lookout Ledge and precedes Scenic Vista. Sunrise and sunset times vary by season, from a 05:02 sunrise at the June solstice to a 16:10 sunset at the December solstice.
