Oak Point

Oak Point sits at 782 ft along the Great River Road, facing 300 degrees, with the land dropping 192 ft within 600 m of the overlook. Santa Fe Beach, a coastal feature, lies west-southwest at 0.9 mi and 592 ft elevation. Farther out, Lost Mound peak is visible to the northwest at 7.8 mi (784 ft), and Black Oak Dune Overlook can be seen west-northwest at 8.3 mi (637 ft). The facing direction is oriented about 30 degrees off square toward sunset, making it suited to evening light. On the September equinox, sunrise is at 06:49 and sunset at 19:00; the June solstice brings sunrise at 05:25 and sunset at 20:41, while the December solstice runs from 07:27 to 16:32.
