Pipeline Confluence

Pipeline Confluence sits at 1,082 feet along the Western New York Southtowns Scenic Byway, with terrain dropping 132 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. The view faces 230°, angled 40 degrees off a direct line to sunset. Looking west and west-northwest, the outlook takes in a series of Hamburg parks and recreation grounds spread across roughly three to four miles: Village of Hamburg Centennial Park at 3.8 miles, Peace Park at 3.9 miles, the Hamburg Community Center & Playground at 4.0 miles, Highland Ave Grove Tree Park and Union Pleasant Field both near 4.1 miles, and Hamburg Memorial Park at 4.3 miles, with elevations at these points ranging from about 810 to 823 feet. Buffalo lies 13.9 miles to the north-northwest, Amherst 18.9 miles north, and Niagara Falls 30.4 miles north-northwest. Because the facing leans toward the western sky, sunset light reaches the overlook directly; sunset times shift from 16:45 in December to 20:57 in June, with equinox sunsets around 19:14–19:27. Visitors arriving in late afternoon or early evening will have the sun more or less ahead of them rather than to the side.
