Ragged Mountain

Ragged Mountain sits at 2,530 ft along the Mount Greylock Scenic Byway, with the land dropping 882 ft within 600 m of the overlook. The view faces 225 degrees, a southwest orientation that angles toward the sunset. From this point, Adams Overlook is visible to the southwest at 1.1 mi (3,351 ft), Peck's Falls to the south-southeast at 1.5 mi (1,192 ft), Silver Fox Falls to the south-southwest at 3.1 mi (2,175 ft), and Cheshire Harbor Hill to the south-southeast at 3.5 mi (1,283 ft). Because the facing runs 45 degrees off square to the sunset line, evening light crosses the overlook at an angle rather than straight on. Sunset times vary by season, from 20:35 at the June solstice to 16:23 at the December solstice, with sunrise ranging from 05:16 in June to 07:20 in December.
