Slide Canyon Viewpoint

Slide Canyon Viewpoint sits at mile 8 of 72 along Provo Canyon Scenic Byway, at an elevation of 5,251 feet. The surrounding terrain is nearly level here, with land dropping only 1 foot over 600 meters. Three waterfalls are visible from the overlook: Upper Falls to the south-southeast at 0.3 mile (5,997 ft), Bridal Veil Falls to the southwest at 0.8 mile (5,747 ft), and Upper Bridal Veil Falls to the south-southwest at 0.8 mile (6,022 ft). Bridal Veil Falls Park lies southwest at 0.9 mile, at 5,270 feet elevation. The viewpoint is roughly 25 to 32 miles from the Salt Lake Valley towns of West Jordan, West Valley City, and Salt Lake City, all situated to the northwest or north-northwest. Daylight hours vary by season, with sunrise at 05:57 and sunset at 21:01 around the June solstice, and sunrise at 07:47 and sunset at 17:04 around the December solstice, giving visitors a wide range of light conditions depending on when they stop.
