Leadore lies 21.3 miles to the south-southeast, while East Salmon and Salmon are 24.6 and 25.7 miles to the west-northwest. The overlook is part of the Lemhi Pass area, a National Historic Landmark within the Beaverhead and Salmon National Forests, where the Forest Service posts seasonal interpretive signs. Picnic tables, hiking trails, and vault toilets are available on site for visitors.
