Wildcat Rock Overlook

Wildcat Rock Overlook sits at 3,417 feet along Drovers Road, facing 60 degrees toward the northeast. The terrain drops 700 feet within 600 meters of the overlook, giving an open view across the lower ground below. Several named points lie within the sightline: Rattlesnake Knob Observation Point and Florence Nature Preserve to the north-northeast within a mile, Burntshirt Mountain at 3,518 feet to the northeast at 1.2 miles, and Tom and Glenna Rock Overlook at 1.8 miles in the same general direction. Farther out, Allen Hill Mountain rises to the east at 2.5 miles, while Blue Rock Mountain and Blue Rock Knob stand to the north-northeast and northeast at 2.8 and 3.1 miles, reaching 3,816 and 3,995 feet respectively. Because the overlook faces close to sunrise direction, morning light comes in low across this cluster of peaks and viewpoints. Asheville lies 14.5 miles to the northwest, with Greer and Spartanburg well to the south. This overlook follows Rattlesnake Knob Observation Point along the route.
