- On July 5, 1914 The late Dr and Mrs Sherman Voorhees and son were involved in one of Chemung County's 1st automoblie accident. Mrs Voorhees was instantly killed. A Cross was erected in her memory and bears the following inscription," This Spot is Sacred b
