Stage Station and Homestead

Originally a stage stop converted to homestead in 1913 by Juan Verdugo and improved in 1917 by adding a room and raising the roof and building a school. Returned to state of arizona in 1920 and leased back to ranchers as bunkhouse until the late 1980's

In 1879 The Southern Pacific Mail and Stage Line company built a one-room adobe station and mesquite corral. It was a horse changing and water stop on the route from the railroad station at Picagcho for passengers going to Florence and beyond. In 1913..
