Erie Beach lies east-northeast at 0.4 miles, and the Duck blind viewpoint, part of the Mallard Club State Wildlife Area, is visible to the east at 1.4 and 1.8 miles. Farther east, at 3.1 miles, both Lamb Beach and Cedar Point National Wildlife Refuge come into view. To the southwest, Pearson Metropark sits at 4.0 miles, while a cluster of features spread across the western view: Bay View Park at 4.9 miles, Carland Beach and the western-most point on Lake Erie near 5.0-5.1 miles, and Nugent Beach (Private) at 5.2 miles, all to the northwest or west-northwest. Toledo lies 8.3 miles to the southwest-southwest, with Ypsilanti Charter Township and Pittsfield Charter Township well to the north-northwest at roughly 38 and 40 miles. Daylight hours vary by season, with sunrise at 06:00 and sunset at 21:12 on the June solstice, narrowing to a 07:58 sunrise and 17:07 sunset by the December solstice.
