Blue Vista Overlook

Blue Vista Overlook sits at 9,177 feet along the Coronado Trail Scenic Byway, facing 210 degrees toward the south-southwest. The terrain drops 821 feet within 600 meters of the overlook, giving an open view over the edge of the Mogollon Rim. Visible features include Engineer Spring to the south at 6.6 miles (7,468 ft), Telephone Mesa to the south at 7.9 miles (8,405 ft), and Robinson Mesa to the southwest at 8.2 miles (6,229 ft). The USFS notes that the view includes portions of the Blue Range Primitive Area and the surrounding Sky Islands mountain ranges. The nearest towns are Reserve, 35.7 miles east-northeast, Clifton, 35.8 miles south, and Whiteriver/Chʼilwózh, 39.8 miles west-northwest. Daylight hours vary through the year: sunrise runs from 05:09 at the June solstice to 07:19 at the December solstice, with sunset ranging from 19:31 in June to 17:14 in December, and near-equal day and night around the equinoxes in March and September.
