Fort George Ruins

Fort George Ruins sits at 384 feet along the Central Adirondack Trail, with land dropping 65 feet within 600 meters. The overlook faces a cluster of features to the north: Charles R. Wood Park lies 0.4 miles northwest at 342 feet, and the Lake George Steamboat Company sits 0.4 miles north-northwest at 323 feet. Usher Park is 0.5 miles northeast at 382 feet, roughly level with the overlook itself, while Doctor Morbid's Haunted House is 0.6 miles northwest at 347 feet. Farther out, Leonelli's Playland Arcade and Shepard Park are both 0.8 miles north-northwest, at 353 and 346 feet respectively. To the west-northwest, the terrain rises sharply toward the Cobble lookout and Rattlesnake Cobble, both 1.2 miles away at 1,198 and 1,225 feet. The LG Village overlook stands 1.2 miles east-southeast at 1,359 feet, and the Lake George Panorama viewpoint is 1.5 miles northwest at 1,145 feet. Queensbury is 4.2 miles south-southeast; Saratoga Springs is 23.3 miles south, and Milton is 27.4 miles south-southwest. The Father Jogues Monument lookout precedes this one on the byway. Daylight ranges from a 16:22 sunset at the December solstice to a 20:40 sunset at the June solstice.
