To the west-northwest, Brooks Knob appears at 5.9 miles, Crumps Knob at 6.3 miles, and Indian Hill farther out at 8.6 miles. Glasgow lies 15.5 miles to the southeast, Bowling Green 22.1 miles to the west-southwest, and Elizabethtown 39.2 miles north-northeast. On the June solstice, sunrise occurs at 05:25 and sunset at 20:09, giving the longest daylight window of the year at this stop. The December solstice narrows that window considerably, with sunrise at 06:55 and sunset at 16:31. The equinox times in March and September fall close together, near 06:40 for sunrise and 18:50 for sunset. This overlook follows Doyel Valley Overlook along the route.
