Gap of Mamore Viewpoint

Gap of Mamore Viewpoint sits at 272 ft on the Wild Atlantic Way, facing west (270°), with the land dropping 265 ft within 600 m of the overlook. The view extends west toward Drumnacraig Beach at 4.4 mi and Cnoc na Boirne, a 672 ft peak, at 6.5 mi. To the west-northwest lie Pollet Great Arch at 4.8 mi and Arryheerna Beach at 5.7 mi, while Cnoc na Sleá, at 462 ft, is visible to the west at 12.0 mi. The facing direction points squarely toward the sunset, so the overlook aligns directly with sunset light throughout the year. Sunset times range from 16:02 at the December solstice to 22:15 at the June solstice, with equinox sunsets at 18:43 in March and 19:32 in September. This stop follows Mamore Gap and precedes Magilligan Point View on the route.
