Mamore Gap

Mamore Gap sits at 781 ft along the Wild Atlantic Way, facing 330°, roughly north-northwest. The land falls away 242 ft within 600 meters of the overlook, giving an open drop toward the terrain below. Dunaff Hill is visible to the north, 3.5 miles away at 707 ft, while Melmore Head lies to the west at a distance of 11.8 miles, sitting much lower at 129 ft. Daylight hours shift considerably through the year here: sunrise comes as early as 04:50 on the June solstice and as late as 08:55 on the December solstice, with sunset ranging from 16:02 in December to 22:15 in June. The equinox sunrise and sunset times fall roughly between these extremes. This overlook is positioned between the Manorcunningham view and the Gap of Mamore Viewpoint on the same route, making it one stop among a sequence along the byway.
