Goat Rock Viewpoint

Goat Rock Viewpoint sits at 878 feet along the Arkansas Scenic 7 Byway, facing 150 degrees toward the south-southeast. The terrain drops 360 feet within 600 meters of the overlook, giving an open outlook over the lower ground below. Several parks lie within view across a range of distances: Gulpha Gorge Picnic Grounds 0.4 miles south-southeast, Wade Street Park 1.4 miles south, Wade Park 1.7 miles south, Chattanooga Park 1.8 miles south-southeast, Hollywood Park 2.9 miles south, and Entergy Park 5.7 miles south, with elevations ranging from 432 to 580 feet. Hot Springs is 1.9 miles to the south-southwest, with Benton 25.9 miles east and Maumelle 42.6 miles east-northeast. On the June solstice, sunrise is at 06:01 and sunset at 20:29, while the December solstice brings sunrise at 07:16 and sunset at 17:06, with the equinoxes falling near 07:00 and 19:00 to 19:24. Short Mountain Vista is the next lookout along the route.
